The deceased miners were taken from the joiner’s shed, and were laid out in the Micklefield Club, which had opened in 1891 (pictured below on the left).
The handwritten report below is an account of the witness testimonies as recorded by Major Taylor, Coroner for the Wakefield District:
30th April 1896. The Peckfield Colliery Disaster at Micklefield
